~Clock towerChapter members are furthering the community service project through a   continuation of the four year hospital commitment. Their project, “Capstone Construction,” is building a clock tower for the new Melissa Memorial Hospital that will recognize all donors and contributors. They have been busy writing grants to fund the building of this clock tower. This is a continuation of previous projects which brought in $26,000 for the hospital, allowed people to voice their ideas for future medical ideas, and provided additional funds through the “time capsule.” Over the past years the community service teams created a “time capsule” with the clock tower securing the opinions gathered for the future of medicine. The plan is to have this clock tower opened up in fifty years to retrieve the thoughts recorded when the hospital was first being built. When their project is completed, the community service teams will have successfully brought quality healthcare close to home.
