~BUSINESS LEADERSHIP CLASS~
For the 2008-2009
school year Ms. Ham created a Business Leadership class where FBLA
members would be free to work on their projects, participate in FBLA
events, and work on accomplishing the chapter goals. This class has
gone far in developing students’ leadership, business, and
management abilities. |

~OFFICER
WORKSHOP~ The Holyoke chapter
officers spent a summer afternoon at Holyoke High School for a
preparation meeting. They discussed goals, fundraisers, community
service, committees, organization, and club involvement. The
officers formed a Program of Work for the 2009-2010 school year.
Officers adopted the national theme, “Simply The Best.”
Flyers and treats were placed in lockers to encourage students to
join FBLA. This also served as an invitation to the annual Welcome
Back Social. Mrs. Ham and the officers use this workshop as a tool
in planning for another great year. |
~LEADERSHIP TRAINING~
Using leadership training activities described in the magazine,
Leadership,
chapter officers conducted many leadership activities with members
during regularly scheduled meetings; however, one of the activities
was completed during FBLA Week. High school students were asked to
design a quilt block explaining what “Simply The Best” meant to
them. We were then able to explain the benefits of FBLA to
prospective members for next year. These quilt blocks were displayed
in the High School as a recruitment technique. |
