~OUTSTANDING CHAPTER~ The Holyoke Chapter is part of the national winner’s circle. Activities were completed in the areas of Community/School Service, Membership/Chapter Management, and Education/Progress. Our chapter received a certificate of recognition and a letter of commendation from FBLA-PBL. Ms. Ham received an adviser lapel pin. Our chapter is included in the Winner’s Circle Honor Roll, which appeared in Tomorrow’s Business Leader and was published on the national website.

~MARCH OF DIMES~ Everyone agrees that helping babies to be their healthiest is an important cause. Supporting the national campaign, chapter members raised money for March of Dimes. Each person started with a penny, then asked community members to swap for a greater amount.  The money raised is donated in buckets to Colorado State Officers at the Leadership Conference.

~FBLA-PBL WEEK ACTIVITIES~ The bulletin board in the hall of Holyoke High School publicized FBLA during the month of February. Activities included, on Monday, decorating all FBLA members’ locker identifying them as members.    Tuesday found FBLA members giving teachers cookies for Teacher Appreciation Day. On Wednesday, students attended the District Leadership Conference competing and attending workshops. Thursday was all about recruiting the junior high students by giving them a presentation and treats. Friday was a snow day; however the last activity was conducted on the following Tuesday. Students were invited to make a “quilt” block in support of the national FBLA theme, “Get the Edge” for a paper quilt that is hung across that hall from the business room.
