Dear Holyoke Community,
It was brought to the attention of the Holyoke School District on August 25th, 2019 around 8 pm that an email was sent to local businesses requesting a tax-deductible donation to continue funding a survey that the Holyoke School District has been using for the past two years that helps improve college and career readiness, social emotional learning and personal instruction. This email and the request was made without the Holyoke School District's knowledge and permission. The Indigo Company was contacted by 9 am August 26th, 2019 and they were told to stop sending any emails and stop soliciting tax-deductible donations using the Holyoke School District's name and information.
We are currently working with our grant partners to ensure that this situation is dealt with correctly and as soon as possible. The Holyoke School District apologizes to any and all businesses that may have received this email asking for donations on behalf of the school district. While we appreciate our local businesses and community for their continual on-going support regarding the school district, an email like this would not be our normal method of requesting additional funds to continue or maintain a program.
