FCCLA Pocket Flag Service Project

For the 2018-2019 Chapter Service Project, Kyra Loutensock, Savannah Burris, and Lauren Bergner are sending pocket flags to deployed soldiers. American soldiers are unable to wear the American flag on their uniforms due to safety concerns. These three girls are wanting to give them a piece of home to take with them while serving their country. Pocket flags are miniature, authentic American flags which can be carried in a soldier’s pocket. The girls have visited classes from 7th to 12th grade to teach students how to properly handle and fold the pocket flags. Each student has also included a short letter to the soldier who will be receiving their flag. They would like to thank everyone who donated to their project by passing the can at the Homecoming football game. They would also like to thank the students for participating and Mrs. Kleve for giving her insight for folding flags. Most of all, they want to thank the men and women who serve in the military to keep our country safe.
