Kynlea was nominated by Mrs. Mallari.  Kynlea goes above and beyond in Math. She asks inquisitive questions because she values learning. She also double checks her assignments to ensure quality work. When done, she helps her classmates but not to the point where she gives answers. She makes her classmates think critically as well. Clearly, her qualities exude responsibility and excellence.Behaviorally, Kynlea is respectful not only towards her teachers but also towards her peers. I have never heard her speak ill of other people. Whenever I need help, I know I can count on her. She is certainly willing to help. This goes to show that she has integrity. She is truly deserving to be the student of the month.

High School: Benjamin Kleve

Ben was nominated by multiple staff and classmates. Ben Kleve first saw I was struggling in my math class. So he decided to help me with my math mate paper before a test so I can learn it a bit better. Turns out it helped me more as that test was my highest scoring test out of all the tests I took. He is also a hard worker as he is involved in FFA and FBLA. Also working hard off campus in track and field.

Ben exemplifies outstanding dedication both academically and extracurricularly. Amidst achieving top grades, he actively participates in sports, FFA, and FBLA, alongside managing responsibilities at his family farm and working for a local farmer. Notably, Ben has successfully held a State FBLA officer position, showcasing exceptional time management and leadership skills while maintaining academic excellence.Beyond his impressive achievements, Ben's kindness shines through in his willingness to assist peers.  For example, I know he is very busy getting ready for State FBLA next week, but I have seen him taking time out to help others in Geometry, working with them to bring their grades up.  And Ben is fast to volunteer to help me and continually asks me what I need help with. Moreover, Ben's character is marked by respect, integrity, and accountability. He demonstrates a strong moral compass by readily admitting mistakes and apologizing when necessary. As his teacher and advisor for the past five years, I've witnessed Ben's remarkable growth and believe he is truly deserving of recognition. Thank you for considering him for this award.

I would like to nominate Ben Kleve for student of the month. Ben is a model student that embodies all of the R.I.S.E. attributes. He is part of many organization like FFA and FBLA. He is a state officer that represents Holyoke High School. Ben is a respectful young man and is kind to everyone around him. He has good grades, takes honor classes, and is very responsible. When looking for a role model for underclassman you could not find a better example of what a Holyoke Dragon student should strive for. Ben is very humble and would say he just does what needs to be done but he volunteers first to get things done. I honestly feel that Ben Kleve deserves to be Student of the Month.

Benjamin Kleve has demonstrated outstanding qualities in my college math classes. This is evident whenever I give challenging problems in class. He works quietly until he gets the answer right. Although it's frustrating when mistakes arise, Ben perseveres because he knows that challenge is an essential skill to have. Ben is also the current FBLA district officer. He has attended multiple conferences and has represented our school well. Aside from his academics and FBLA, he is an active member of FFA and a track athlete. Behaviorally, Ben is someone who you can always count on. Whenever his teachers or peers need help, he's there, willing to help! More importantly, he asks if I need help. These are the reasons why I think Ben should be March's student of the month.

Additionally, in conjunction with the Elementary and Jr./Sr. High School's Youth Connection work and the Board of Education's desire to recognize students at board meetings that demonstrate exceptional academic and behavior a Dragon Coin was designed by the administration to be given to students each month at a school board meeting.
