November 13th, 2020

Dear Holyoke Students, Parents, and Guardians,

Since Tuesday, November 10th, the number of positive cases of Coronavirus and the number of those who need quarantine that comes with those exposed have drastically increased and this has negatively affected the Holyoke School District.  While the district believes and desires to instruct students in-person, it has been determined at this time that in-person instruction can not take place productively and safely for both students and staff.  The entire Holyoke School District will start remote learning for all K-12 students Monday, November 16th, through Friday, November 20th.  The Holyoke School District will continue to monitor positive Coronavirus cases and quarantine factors that affect both students and staff the week of November 16th, before a determination will be made regarding if remote learning will continue the week of November 30th, 2020.  Kindergarten through 12th grade students are asked to check their school emails and log into Google Classroom on Monday morning, November 16th, 2020 at 8 am for more guidance from their classroom teachers.

The Holyoke School District will be providing Grab and Go Breakfasts/Lunches the week of November 16th, through November 20th.  These Grab and Go Breakfasts/Lunches can be picked up in front of the Holyoke Elementary School, located at 326 East Kellogg Street, between 11 am and 1 pm.  Each Grab and Go sack will have lunch for the current day and breakfast for the following morning for any child between 1 years old and 18 years old, regardless if they attend school at Holyoke Elementary School, Holyoke Jr/Sr High School, or the Holyoke Alternative School.

The district apologies for any inconvenience this may cause for families and students but do appreciate your understanding of the situation that the district is currently in.  If you have any questions or if you would like to obtain information to become a substitute teacher for the district please check out the district website at www.hcosd.org or feel free to contact building principals, the district office, or Mr. Stumpf directly.

Estimados Estudiantes, Padres y Guardianes,
