The LPAA has announced its protocols for basketball games at member schools. It is important to note that these protocols can change at anytime based on changes to the COVID pandemic, winter weather emergencies or any other circumstance yet unforeseen.
Order of Games
2021 High School game order will remain as normal: JVG, JVB, VG, VB or normal 6 pack order the host school's capacity will allow. Junior High game order will also remain the same: C, B, A. Varsity games will remain the same time as normal. Sub-Varsity games when played it is preferred that the game consist of 3, 8-minute quarters however, that may be adjusted by host school. Junior High Games will be played as 6 minute quarters.
Gate List
Each individual game will have a gate list. Each team will get 25 names for fans of each game. This is subject to change as ordered by the State or Local Health Departments.
Admission
High School
$3 per fan per game with $6 max per night/day. (The gym will be cleared between each game and fans will have to pay to enter again unless they have meet the $6 max.)
Middle School
$3 per fan per game with $6 max per night/day. (The gym will be cleared between each game and fans will have to pay to enter again unless they have meet the $6 max.
Cleaning Between Games
At the conclusions of any contest, the gym will be cleared all fans and personal. If another contest will follow, 25 minutes will be placed on the game clock for cleaning the gym. With 15 minutes remaining on the clock teams can take the floor for warmup and fans will be allowed back into the gym.
Non-Active Players
The host school will determine where non-active players will be during the game in which they are not playing. Options include being allowed to sit behind bench as managers or being taken to separate location with supervision provided by their respective teams.
Other Considerations
Cheerleader and Pep Band will count towards the 25 fans for the team.
Concession stand will be determined by host school.
Host school will determine entry sites for both teams as well as home and visiting fans. Restroom assignments will be communicated by the host school. Please follow all signage and directions at the schools when you arrive.
While this may not be ideal, following these protocols will make the experience at the games more enjoyable than not having any games to attend. Let us do our best to make the season about the student athletes.
