Letter to the Community / Carta para la comunidad

In a letter dated April 1, 2020, Kyle Stumpf, superintendent of schools,  addressed the ongoing situation in the school district and state of Colorado regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. Read the full version of the letter here or en español

Below are some of the highlights:

  • Governor Polis has ordered schools to suspend in-person instruction through April 30, 2020.
  • There is an increased likelihood that in-person instruction will not resume this school year.
  • CDE has waived the minimum number of school days and teacher-pupil contact hours required by state law for this school year.
  • The school year will not be extended nor, we we start any earlier in August.
  • We will transition to continuous learning through an online learning experience.
  • If you have not heard from your child's teacher please let your building principal know.
  • The district is operating with minimal staff in the buildings, if you call and no one answers, please leave a message. Someone will respond within one working day.
  • The District is looking at all options to hold a graduations ceremony at sometime. We wish to honor those students, parents and the staff who have worked so hard to help them reach this point in their lives. 
  • The buildings and grounds will remain closed to public use during the stay-home order.
