January Students of the Month

Holyoke Chamber of Commerce in recognizing students who go above and beyond in their efforts to RISE to Excellence.

The following students have been selected for January Students of the Month.

Junior High: Sarah Adams

Sarah was nominated by Mrs. Jablonski and a classmate. Sarah is very helpful in ways that are never prompted by teachers or adults. One example of this excellence: one day during lunch recess in the old gym, Sarah offered to sweep underneath the bleachers for our custodian, Delma. There were so many wrappers from games, breakfast, broken pencils, old popcorn, and just nasty. Sarah swept all of it out and it is very clean now. I was so impressed and I hope her excellence is acknowledged! She is always keeping me and others in line with work, est. I love how she is not scared to stand up for herself, always.

High School: Isabelle Kropp

Isabelle was nominated by Mrs. Hines.  I feel that Belle has displayed extremely positive R.I.S.E. behavior this year. She shows responsibility by getting her work done in a timely manner and asks for work ahead of time if she knows she is going to miss class. She shows integrity because she does the right thing during class even when it may be hard. She leads her peers by example, and is consistently doing positive things even when an adult is not looking. She is always friendly and happy to have a conversation with anyone. I really enjoy having her as a student!

Additionally, in conjunction with the Elementary and Jr./Sr. High School's Youth Connection work and the Board of Education's desire to recognize students at board meetings that demonstrate exceptional academic and behavior a Dragon Coin was designed by the administration to be given to students each month at a school board meeting.
