FBLA/7th Graders do Walk-a-Thon

The Holyoke Junior High FBLA and 7th Graders started planning a Walk-a-Thon to raise money for BECAUSE in November, where their efforts paid off by earning $2,000!  The actual walk-a-thon was held on January 23, where over 20 students walked all morning, earning money based on miles walked.  Many individuals in and outside of the Holyoke community supported the efforts through pledges.

Ryker Ring, 7th grade FBLA member, earned the most money through pledges and earned a $50 gift card with Kynlea Nelson, 7th grade member, earning 2nd highest and a $25 gift card.

BECAUSE is a non-profit created in 1986 in Phillips County to benefit the members of Phillips County in times of need.  BECAUSE was established not for any one reason, but just because….  They can be found on Facebook as “Because Nonprofit”.  Karina Davis, BECAUSE representative, is shown receiving a check for $2,000 given by project representatives Lili Vasquez and Raia Sprague.
