Teachers will be calling all students and their families 3/23 or 3/24.
Teachers will be reaching out to you today in an effort to touch base with you as these times are different than normal and we sure you have questions that you are wondering about. Please know we are working hard to find ways to make sure students still have an opportunity for a modified education experience for the next four weeks.
Please have students check their school email as their teachers will be sending an email to them by Monday, March 30th with more detailed plans. The teaching staff will be working on putting together educational materials for students to use during this time. The majority of the modified learning experience will be from teachers using Google Classroom and Google Tools to provide these modified opportunities. However, also look for resources, various enrichment activities and fun ways for them to be engaged over the next four weeks.
If students do not have a Chromebook, Band Instrument, school supplies and personal items that may be needed while at home the next four weeks please look for a schedule for when households will be allowed in buildings to retrieve all needed items. Specific directions, time, entry locations we will post on the school app, school website (www.hcosd.org) or be sent to student’s email accounts.
The district knows and understands that some families may currently not have or may not have the means in the near future to provide internet that students may need at this time to do school work. The Holyoke School District is currently working with local vendors to help provide internet access for households at no charge if needed. If you do not have internet access at your home please contact your student’s building principal, Mr. Walkinsahw (Jr/Sr High School) or Mrs. Kammer (Elementary) or the district superintendent, Mr. Stumpf to ask about options.
Please remember that the student's teacher will be in contact with you later this week with more detail about what the next four weeks' modified learning experience will look like. Check the district website and district app for updates or new information. Also, don’t forget if you just need to talk to someone or if you have any questions you are welcome to call or email any one of your teachers, your counselor, your principal or even Mr. Stumpf as we are all here to help as best that we can during these times.
