Holyoke Chamber of Commerce is recognizing students who go above and beyond in their efforts to RISE to Excellence.
The following students have been selected for April Students of the Month.
Junior High: Yanni Zuniga Garcia
Yanni was nominated by Mrs. Grothman.
Yanni, always comes into the classroom with a big smile and a positive attitude. She is a leader in her class and a great role model to others by her kindness, helping others, and respectful to everyone. Yanni has a kind word for anyone she runs into and is very responsible concerning her grades. She has embraced creating her capstone and it has resulted in her producing a capstone she should be very proud of.
Senior High School: Kylee Garrett
Kylee was nominated by Mrs. Jablonski.
I am most impressed by her willingness and ability to do any task at hand, her "go get 'em" attitude, and her ambition to step up when no one else will is one of her better characteristics. I've seen firsthand, especially during prom, that Kylee has excellent responsibility in communication with community members and is very resourceful when creating plans. One of my favorite things about Kylee as a person is her love for her family, her ranch animals, and I witnessed just the other day how much she and her brother Brody can laugh and have fun.
Additionally, in conjunction with the Elementary and Jr./Sr. High School's Youth Connection work and the Board of Education's desire to recognize students at board meetings that demonstrate exceptional academics and behavior a Dragon Coin was designed by the administration to be given to students each month at a school board meeting.
