Internship HighlightsCaden is interning at Central Plains Equipment.
What have you learned?"One thing that has been noticed while working in my internship that comes to mind first is the connection that I have made with the people I work with in my internship. As I have spent more time around [them] I have gotten to know each person better as I meet them and continue to interact with them."
What does collaboration mean to you and how have you used it in your internship?"Having some basic collaboration skills will benefit anyone in the workforce tremendously whether it is from a simple task to a sophisticated problem; understanding how to collaborate together can be important. As collaboration can entail communication, teamwork, actively listening and defining expectations, as I have worked in my internship I have seen this put into action and have been improving my skill from being able to set expectations to being able to work in a team to get a task done. It has been a great chance to learn and improve."
What are some key skills you have been focusing on while at your internship?"So of the things I found more important to my improvement and growth at my internship were, making new connections with co-workers, working on my professionalism in the workplace, as well as collaboration and working better together with my co-workers. I believe that all these points will help in the future of my internship and later in life, as thy can be applied to all parts of life in general fro work to your personal life.

I have had a chance to work on my [professionalism] with addressing staff members as well as customers as the come into the store. As I have shadowed and helped with serving customers in the store it has been a great experience and a great chance to work on introductions, clear communication and other important factors you'll need in life to be successful in the workforce."
