Through the Holyoke Homegrown Talent Initiative students get the opportunity to explore career choices outside of the traditional classroom. This series spotlights junior and senior interns who leave the traditional classroom for one or more class period a day and learn what life will be like once they hit the work force. | Internship Highlights | Karlie inters at the Elementary School with Ms. Brandt and Mrs. Gerk in Special Education. This semester she will also work with Mrs. Tharp in 5th grade. |
| What have you learned? | "Ms. Brandt has taught me about the different tests she has to giver her students and when she gives each test to them. She has taught me how to do a lot of the prep work it takes to be a special education teacher. " |
| Career Exploration | "I have had to to be professional almost everyday at my internship. I work with kids so you never quite know what the kids are going to say. You definitely have to keep an open mind when you work with kids especially at the age I work around." |
