Through the Holyoke Homegrown Talent Initiative students get the opportunity to explore career choices outside of the traditional classroom. This series spotlights junior and senior interns who leave the traditional classroom for one or more class period a day and learn what life will be like once they hit the work force. | What have you learned? | "Something I that I have learned at my internship this month are: * How to shellack nails, step-by-step * How to arrange the color shelf * The process of taking inventory * How to determine prices." |
| What has been your focus? | "I have focused on the importance of professionalism in the workplace this last month. I have focused on kindness and respect towards customers, as well as my coworkers. Being able to communicate is an example of this. A professional environment makes customers more impressed and willing to come back to your salon." |
