This week the students at the elementary school have been learning about the earth and things they can do to protect our environment.

Kindergarten students learned about the life cycle of butterflies and watched as caterpillars grew into butterflies. They enjoyed releasing them.

1st grade students learned about reusing materials. They used these up-cycles to paint pictures of the earth.

4th grade students had a guest speaker from the Conservation District come and talk about the importance of planting trees. Each 4th grade student was given the opportunity to take a tree home to plant by a member of the Holyoke Lion's Club. (They were also excited to have a visit from Leo the Lion.)

We appreciate our teachers and community for the amazing effort the put in to all of the lessons they teach our students.
