Students Biking

Holyoke Elementary Students participated in National Bike to School Day on May 3rd, 2023. According to walkbiketoschool.org "Families, school officials and community leaders across the United States will strap on helmets and lace up shoes today to participate in the 12th annual National Bike & Roll to School Day, a celebration highlighting the importance of safe, active transportation to school and promoting accessible spaces for all active trips."

Not only were the students encouraged to ride to school on Wednesday but there was also time set aside in the afternoon for the students to show off their bikes and riding skills. For those students who did not bring a bike to school the school the school had bikes in all sizes and styles students could borrow with helmets.

To help keep the students safe during the school day ride, the FCCLA, Holyoke Police Department and EMS were on the scene to offer support with first aid and close the roads where the students rode.

The Elementary School is happy to continue his support this wonder and fun event that promotes outside healthy activity of all kinds.
