Holyoke Chamber of Commerce in recognizing students who go above and beyond in their efforts to RISE to Excellence.
The following students have been selected for December Students of the Month.
Junior High: Joselyn Reynoso
Joselyn was nominated by a classmate. Joselyn is always kind to other people. She is always on top of her school work, and makes sure she has her homework done before she gets in class. Joselyn tries her hardest in class and makes sure she understands everything before moving on. Once you get to know her, she is somebody that I think would make an amazing friend. She tries new things that are outside of her comfort zone. For example, she went out for cheer and basketball even though she hasn't played a ton of sports in the past. Joselyn is hardworking, sweet, smart, and many other things. I think that she deserves to be student of the month because of all of the amazing qualities she has.
High School: Grace Whisenhunt
Grace was nominated by Mr. French. Grace has been an outstanding representative of the school in many ways throughout the semester. She has volunteered to help run the lights for both school and community events just to be helpful, even with no personal benefit to herself. She has also put in extra work whenever she felt like there was something she could understand better. Her hard work and dedication shows up in her high grades, and in her performances in extracurricular activities such as Robotics, Theater, and FCCLA as well. I'm very proud to nominate Grace as the student of the month.
Additionally, in conjunction with the Elementary and Jr./Sr. High School's Youth Connection work and the Board of Education's desire to recognize students at board meetings that demonstrate exceptional academic and behavior a Dragon Coin was designed by the administration to be given to students each month at a school board meeting.
