Primary Purpose

Under the direct supervision of the JR/SR High School Principal you will teach English to students whose first language is not English. You will also provide support to those students in all other academic areas and preform other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions

  • Prepare to teach (7-12) Special Education

  • Report grades weekly for each class

  • Work closely with that staff to offer support for all ELL students

  • Help provide yearly assessments to ELL students as screen new students to the district

  • Preform supervision duties as assigned

  • Maintain positive communication with administration, staff, students and their parents

As a teacher you have nine personal days to use at your discretion. We believe that teachers want to be in the classroom, but when family and personal matters require you to be out of the building, you need the support of your employer. Our administrators work with their staff to support them in these cases or for a few minutes here or there. We also have progressive maternity and paternity policies. Our district also has an annual survey and utilizes several committees to be sure that teachers’ voices are heard and that classroom views are honored in policy development and there is a four day work week.

Education and Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in an appropriate field

Prior Experience - Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to communicate with individuals in a positive manner

  • Give and receive feedback on performance

  • Desire to improve your craft daily

  • We are a G-Suite school, knowledge and ability to work within the G-Suite software helpful and will be taught to all new hires.\r\n

  • Past experience working with the children in the target age group is helpful

Travel Requirements

It is anticipated that you will work exclusively at the Junior/Senior High School
