It is that time again. The time when the shoes come off, the costumes come on and students, parents, teachers and community members fight for the right to hold the coveted Dodgeball Championship Trophy. More importantly it is the time when the community comes together to support someone in need.  Get your Dodgeball packet here or continue reading below for more information.

After a year off because of COVID protocols, the NHS Dodgeball Tournament returns for the 13th installment. This year the date is November 15th at 4pm. Community members are invited to join the 7th - 12th grade student body in creating teams to support Jeffery Espinoza. 

The steps are simple to form a team.  Just submit a team roster to Mr. Betley by November 11 @ 4pm and you are in the tournament.  Pay your team fees and turn in your liability form before competing you are in the running for the glory of holding the trophy. For complete rules of play click here.

The Holyoke High School Chapter of the National Honor Society invites you to participate in the 13th Annual Dodgeball tournament. This year the National Honor Society will be hosting a dodgeball tournament to help raise funds for Jeffery Espinoza. We would like to encourage you to gather a team and participate in this fun-filled event. You will need to create a team name and choose a team “theme”, “color”, or “outfit.” The dodgeball tournament is scheduled for November 15, 2021 at 5:00 pm. Please fill out the enclosed form and return it to Mr. Betley at the High School by November 11, 2021 at 4:00pm to enter your team and to avoid late fees.

Registration that day will begin at 4pm. Please be checked in and ready to start the parade by 4:45 pm.

Important information:

  • Teams consist of 6-10 members.

  • A fee of $5 per team member is required to play ($6 per person if paid at the door.) Each team member must complete the liability release form [enclosed, make as many copies as needed]).

  • All teams may choose a walk-up song that is school appropriate from Mr. Betley’s pre-approved list. These songs will be available on a first come, first served basis and they must specify the time section of the song that is to be played. (If you pay at the door your walk up song will be selected for you.)

  • Each team must complete the registration information and return it to Mr. Betley no later than November 11 (If your team’s roster is not turned in on November 11 you will not play. You can pay fees and turn in liability forms the day of the tournament, subject to a late fee).

  • If there are not enough teams (8) the event will be cancelled and refunds will be issued.

  • The format of the tournament will depend on how many teams sign up. Each team will play at least two games.

  • We will award the winning team, the best-dressed team, and the best entrance during the parade. All awards will be made at the end of the event.

  • Please note that your team will not be allowed to participate until all the necessary fees and paperwork are turned in (There will be a $1 per player fee for players who pay late).

  • Make a copy of the waiver form for each member of your team!

We also encourage the community to come out and support the teams and fill the old gym. There will be a cost of $3 per attendee who desires to come.
